Their technician is always very efficient and friendly thus equipment is returned without delay to ensure minimal disruption. I wish to confirm that Southern Cross Hospitals utilizes Biomedical Services NZ Ltd for the electrical safety and functional testing of our medical devices against the ASNZS3551:2012 Standard for all our hospitals nationally, with the exception of Christchurch who have a unique bespoke local relationship.

We have contracted out to Biomedical Services for the last 18 years as we have found their service to be responsive, flexible and thorough. In 2010 the terms of engagement were extended to incorporate additional scope than just testing. They now provide comprehensive management of all our medical devices – including 3rd party devices. This additional checking of documentation is immeasurable and it gives total peace of mind. By applying this additional authorization and autonomy, yet still independent, it has enabled them to act as an intermediary and push for well needed improvement from suppliers and installers on our behalf.

We have found the individual technicians take ownership of their work at their respective hospitals and the management’s communication and reception to change or questions in particular has always been very timely and professional.
